At Home Concepts we have developed a community strategy that will
implement innovative technologies to create an intelligent homes community. By incorporating unique and creative ideas we have come up with a strategy that will provide land developers and their builders with an exciting opportunity to increase safety and technological awareness.

iHomes Mission:
To provide new home buyers with access to innovative technologies to make their community a safer place to live and create a home of their dreams.

We see the iHomes strategy becoming a standard in new communities throughout Alberta . Providing education to developers, builders and new home buyers so that all technological advances are made available and understood.

Community Ideas:
Throughout the development phase of the iHomes Strategy we at Home Concepts have taken all creative ideas learned during our many product training courses and tailored them to make a community strategy that will add value and attractiveness to all future developments.

Greenspace:
The common area in communities is sometimes overlooked when it comes to technology. At Home Concepts we’ve included technology ideas within the greenspace that will make the new home owners feel more confident in letting their young ones play on their own.

Ideas:

• Intercom system that allows each house to communicate with designated areas. (Call your children for dinner)
• Security cameras located at designated areas so the home owner can bring up the camera image on their TV’s to check on children.
• Security stations in common areas.
• Doorbell board (At the park with your children and your doorbell rings, a display board rings and your house number is displayed to let you know there’s someone at your home).

Community Common Areas:
Depending on the amenities to be developed for the community, these iHomes Strategy ideas may come into play.

Ideas:

• Community Theatre - a dedicated community theatre that will allow for movie nights, plays, or community meetings.
• Business Center - although most homes now have their own internet services, a business center can be developed with video conferencing, internet access, and common computers for children to get out of their homes to do homework and projects.
• Website - during the building stage clients will be able to watch their home grow with cameras on each home. The website will also act as a message board for the community.

Individual Homes:
An iHomes Community will incorporate many technological features that will be catered to the individuals needs and desires. Each home will be unique and only limited to the clients budget.

Ideas:

• Dedicated home theatre room — a room in which the family can entertain guests while experiencing a true theatre experience.
• Acoustical room treatments — reduce listening fatigue and make music and movies a much more enjoyable family experience.
• Audio distribution throughout the home — allows for ambient music throughout the entire home, listening to different sources in each room.
• Video distribution throughout the home — start a movie in the theatre room, put it on pause and continue watching the movie in the bedroom.
• Security/Surveillance systems — make each home a safe home
• Lighting control — there are many benefits to a well designed and programmed lighting control system. Save electricity through dimmers and properly designed lighting schemes.
• Sensor relays — these sensors are the starting point of unique programming that will make each home an intelligent home.
• Home networking — have internet access in any room in the house and be able to print to one common printer

Unique System Scenarios:
You’re away from home and your security system is armed but it’s also integrated with your lighting control system which turns lights on randomly throughout the day and night to deter possible intruders.

The door bell rings and your system activates your front door camera and displays the image on all TV’s that are on in your home to show you who is at the door.

Imagine coming home and opening your garage door, this sets off a series of commands to the system to turn on certain lights to light a path to the kitchen or living room. Imagine going to bed and realizing you forgot some lights on, press one simple button to turn off all the lights in the main part of your home.
